this year on the runway, we see a more modern take on wedding dresses. in 2011, dresses have started stepping away from the norm and taking a more daring and sophisticated take but still embodying everlasting elegance.

a contemporary take on wedding gowns would be short dresses contrasting the traditional long gowns that we so often see. these are fun and flirty as well as modern.

sparkly embellishments add dimension and drama to any gown.  they gather sophistication and draw attention to any simple dress.

pops of black have been seen this year. you can see that the black ribbon around the waist has been used to add shape and to accentuate the waist.  it also adds a sense of sophistication and elegance.  the black deeply contrasts with the white making the dress stand out and add more detail.  this represents the modernity that has been seen on the runway.

whether you’re conservative or a little more free-spirited, when choosing a dress, select one that reflects your own style and personality.  that way, guests will not only notice how beautiful you look walking down that aisle, but also admire your true sense of self.
